Ofir was born in Israel and moved to Toronto with his family at an early age. Upon completing his undergraduate degree in Psychology, Ofir decided to embark on a personal journey back to Israel in order to reacquaint himself with family, friends, and people of Israel. Since his participation with Taglit-Birthright Israel: Oranim trips in 2003, Ofir went to staff multiple trips from Canada and the United States. In 2007, after many countless hours researching various programs in Israel, Ofir made a decision to pursue a long-term volunteer program with Oranim's Israel Service Corps, since it enables participants to customize their schedules and provides the freedom to design personalized projects based on each individual's interests. After completing his service with ISC, he chose to extend his stay and join the ISC team in order to expand various elements of the program.
